Windsor by bike

Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, and the Queen of England’s favourite.

Located on a scenic cliff-top location above the river Thames, it makes the perfect destination for our gentle bike tour. After meeting at Windsor and Eton Central train station, we jump on board our comfy bikes to begin our tour.

The bike tour around the scenic Thames Valley is a flat and largely traffic-free 8 miles (13km) through country lanes and designated bike tracks.  There is plenty of time to stop and take photos en-route.

The tour finishes back in central Windsor, a short walk from the castle, the towns various shopping & eating destinations or trains stations for your return to London.

A truly historic day out guaranteed!

Highlights

Olympic rowing lake

Home to the London 2012 Olympics and where Prince William & Harry learnt to row. We enjoy the big skies and scenic surroundings of the Eton rowing lake. A stunning arboretum and sculpture park make this an unexpected highlight on the tour.

Historic Dorney Court

We pause for refreshment at this Tudor mansion, with a selection of teas & homemade cakes available. Dating from 1440 it is a fine example of early Tudor architecture, and the tea cake are not bad either!

Explore Eton

If times permits we cycle along the beautiful Eton High St, and see the oldest school in England that has educated 19 British Prime Ministers to date!

Windsor Castle

We enjoy a stunning riverside arrival to the Queen’s favourite castle built in 1066.

This is a photo opportunity not to miss before finishing the tour in central Windsor, where you can visit the castle or return to central London at your leisure.
